Learning Differently. Belonging First. Progress at Their Own Pace.

Our flexible home education provision is designed for children and young people who benefit from structured learning, positive relationships and a smaller, more nurturing educational environment in our provision , online or home.

We provide a safe and welcoming space where learners can develop confidence, maintain progress and experience education in a way that recognises their individual strengths, needs and pace.

Our approach is rooted in Connection First • Curiosity Always • Confidence Forever, alongside nurture-based and trauma-informed practice.

We understand that children and young people may arrive with very different experiences of education. Some may have experienced anxiety, overwhelm, repeated difficulties in school, disrupted attendance or challenges associated with SEND. We therefore focus on understanding the child before deciding what the child needs to learn.

SATs & GCSE Boosters

Our targeted booster programmes provide additional support for learners who need to build confidence, close gaps or prepare for assessments.

EBSA & Re-Engagement Pathway

For learners experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), we provide a flexible pathway that recognises that non-attendance is often a response to anxiety, overwhelm, unmet needs, environmental pressures or other barriers rather than simply a matter of choice. Current EBSA guidance emphasises understanding the individual factors and function of non-attendance and working collaboratively with the child, family and professionals.

Our approach is relationship-led, flexible and child-centred.

We can begin with a small amount of engagement and gradually build towards a more consistent learning routine.

A staged pathway may look like:

Initial connection → Short sessions → Half-day engagement → Increased participation → Full-day learning → Progression to next pathway

The pace is individual to the learner.

We focus on:

  • Building a trusted relationship with consistent adults

  • Creating a sense of safety and belonging

  • Listening to the learner's experience and understanding barriers

  • Reducing overwhelm

  • Developing predictable routines

  • Providing reasonable flexibility and adjustments

  • Building emotional regulation and coping strategies

  • Increasing confidence and participation

  • Developing positive peer relationships

  • Reviewing and adapting support regularly

We use an Assess → Plan → Do → Review approach, working with families and other professionals where appropriate.

We do not ask, "Why won't this child attend?"
We ask, "What is making education difficult for this child, and what can we change to help?"

Nurture & Trauma-Informed Approach

Our provision recognises that behaviour is communication and that learning is closely connected to relationships, emotional safety and wellbeing.

Our nurture and trauma-informed approach focuses on:

  • Connection before correction

  • Predictability and consistency

  • Emotionally available adults

  • Co-regulation before expecting self-regulation

  • Strengths-based practice

  • Choice and learner voice

  • Clear, achievable expectations

  • Positive relationships and belonging

  • Understanding behaviour within the wider context of the learner's experiences

  • Celebrating small steps and meaningful progress

We aim to create an environment where learners feel known, valued and understood.

Therapeutic & Wellbeing Support
Where appropriate, learners can access an enhanced programme of therapeutic and wellbeing support.
This may include:

  • Art Therapy

  • Play Therapy

  • Emotional regulation interventions

  • Anxiety support

  • Social communication interventions

  • Self-esteem and confidence work

  • Movement-based regulation

  • Sensory-informed activities

  • Access to specialist professionals where appropriate

Our therapeutic approaches complement education and are designed to help learners develop practical strategies they can use in everyday life.

Active & Experiential Learning
Learning does not always need to happen sitting behind a desk.
We use movement, creativity, practical activities and real-world experiences to support engagement, communication, regulation and curiosity.
Learners may have opportunities to access:

Sport • Rebound Therapy • Art • Drama • Music • Outdoor Learning • Practical Projects • Enterprise • Movement-Based Learning

These experiences can help learners develop confidence, resilience, social skills and independence alongside their academic learning.

Flexible Attendance
We understand that families choosing home education often value flexibility.
Depending on individual need and the agreed programme, learners may be able to access:

  • Half-day provision

  • Full-day provision

  • Selected subject sessions

  • Targeted booster sessions

  • Short-term intervention programmes

  • KS3 learning pathways

  • KS4 qualification pathways

  • Bespoke programmes agreed with families

The aim is to create a structure that supports the learner without recreating the barriers that may have made traditional education difficult.

Enhanced Support — Available Upon Request

For learners requiring additional specialist support, an enhanced offer may be available by agreement.
This can include:
